SUSTAINABILITY

CHESHE IS COMMITTED TO SUSTANIBLE PRACTICE

We started thrifting clothes from local charity shops.

Charity shops are a type of social enterprise that sells mostly used goods donated by members of the public, such as clothing, books, shoes, DVDs, toys, and furniture, and are frequently staffed by volunteers. Because the items for sale were obtained for free and the business costs are low, the items can be sold at competitive prices, and all remaining income is used in accordance with the organization’s stated charitable purpose after covering costs.

OUR PRACTICE

When we grew in size, we chose Syed Vintage, a vintage wholesale company based in the heart of England, with warehouses in London, Germany, Japan, and Thailand. They are the leading supplier in the UK and Europe, and have been a driving force in the Vintage Clothing Industry since 2014.

Back at CHESHE, We unpack and inspect each piece before laundering, pricing, and sorting for shipment to the shop and website. We RECYCLE EVERYTHING, just like the Charity Shop and the Warehouse, and what doesn’t meet our standards is donated back to the Charity Shop or cut into textile pieces to reuse for our Reworked Section or Collections.

LOGISTICS

Our website orders are shipped with Royal Mail and UPS that has a social impact with 30 million hours volunteering, planting 50 million trees by 2030, going 100% Carbon neutral by 2050 and in more than 30 cities worldwide they use Bike-based deliveries.

WHO SAID OUR CLOTHES AR NOT CLEAN?

Let’s consider the Facts:

- Fashion has become the second largest contributor to global pollution, leading to its classification as a disposable industry, with an estimated 85% of unrecycled clothing ending up in landfill or being incinerated.

- Considering that most modern textiles contain Polymer fibres, a non-biodegradable plastic, synthetic clothing should be recycled, reused and washed as little as possible to prevent it from entering our soils and oceans.

- 20,000 litres of water are required to produce just 1kg of cotton (one pair of jeans), and gallons of water are required in dyeing, finishing, and washing, all of which are reasons why fashion wastes water and why we should consider more recycling and reusing clothes.

- Reusing, repairing, and rewearing can help you contribute less to the 20 kl of Greenhouse gas emissions per kilo of new clothing produced, as the production and transportation of clothing is responsible for 10% of global emissions.

SECOND HAND CLOTHES CAN MAKE YOU FEEL BETTER WITH YOUR OWN SELF, HOW?

Fashion is not cheap because it costs a lot to make, move, and sell clothes, so how your new t-shirt could possibly cost £7?
Have you ever considered the environmental and ethical conditions under which a human being is forced to work in order to pay so little for a “New ” t-shirt?

SECOND HAND IS A WAY TO RELIEVE YOUR GUILT FROM CHOOSING ” FAST FASHION ” IN ORDER TO SAVE MONEY.

We all know that the chemicals used in the fashion industry cause death and disease.

Toxic waste water from dyes, fertilisers, and other chemicals, including mercury, pollute water sources and destroy wildlife and marine life, resulting in the extinction of animals for the production of new clothing and footwear, as well as approximately 70 million trees felled annually for clothing textile.

THE MESSAGE IS CLEAR, AND WE HOPE YOU WILL CHOOSE TO HELP US IMPROVE THE ENVIRONMENT INSTEAD OF FAST FASHION.

OUR QUALITY

It is estimated that 95% of discarded clothing textile is wearable, and our goal is to bring what is considered waste back to the market. This can significantly reduce the need for new products and allow us to focus more on our efforts to improve the world.

OUR SUSTAINABLE MISSION WILL NEVER END AND AS WE ALL MOVE TOWARD A GREENER FUTURE, CHESHE WILL CONTINUE TO EXPLORE, DEVELOP A NEW IDEAS TO IMPROVE OUR PROMISE TO RECYCLE FOR A BETTER WORLD.

STAY TUNED AND CHOOSE THE BETTER VERSION OF YOU, EVERYDAY WITH US!
